# Roku Church Channel Proposal

> 24/7 Scheduled Christian Programming Platform

## Executive Summary

This project proposes launching a Roku TV channel that continuously broadcasts
pre‑recorded church content such as sermons, worship sessions, devotionals, and
teaching series.

The system operates as a **linear TV‑style channel**; viewers tune in and watch
whatever program is currently scheduled.

### Key Benefits
- 24/7 Christian programming
- Global access via Roku TVs
- Reuse of existing sermon recordings
- Extremely low operating cost
- Expandable to other platforms (Apple TV, Fire TV, Web)

## Channel Concept
The channel behaves like a television station. Content is scheduled in **4-hour programming packages**.

Each day contains six blocks:

| Block | Time |
|---|---|
| 1 | 12:00 AM – 4:00 AM |
| 2 | 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM |
| 3 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM |
| 4 | 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM |
| 5 | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM |
| 6 | 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM |

Each block plays a **package** containing a curated set of videos.

## Sunday Programming
Sunday blocks can automatically select:
- the **current Sunday sermon package**
- or fallback to **last Sunday’s package**

This ensures Sunday content is always available even if the newest package is not yet prepared.

## Estimated Monthly Cost
| Component | Estimated Cost |
|---|---|
| Storage | ~$20 |
| Bandwidth (2–20 viewers) | $4 – $43 |
| Total | ~$25 – $65 |

## Timeline
| Phase | Duration |
|---|---|
| Infrastructure setup | 2 days |
| Encoding pipeline | 3 days |
| Scheduling engine | 2 days |
| Roku integration | 3 days |
| Testing | 3 days |

Total estimated implementation time: **2–3 weeks**
